We have out grown our current location and are implementing a two year plan to move our location. We are looking to build a 20,000 square foot state of the art facility with permanent concrete displays and underwater viewing.
Needless to say, this will be an expensive venture and we have introduced 2 new fundraising programs to help us raise the required capital to facilitate the move.
We are estimating that the cost of the new facility will be in the $2,000,000 range and we will own the building we will be in.
Over the next 2 years, we will be trying to raise $1,000,000 in our own money as a down payment on this project and have started 3 initiatives to help us with our move.
- First, effective immediately, we will be putting $10 from every family membership into a trust account for this project.
- Secondly, we have started an Adopt an Animal program and for as little as $50, someone can adopt a zoo animal which will come complete with a photo of the animal and an adoption certificate. 50% of the funds raised from the adoptions will go towards funding our move.
- And third, we have started 'Skinables Collectables' a new business venture where people can own a piece of a rarity in their homes. 100% of every dollar raised from this new venture will be placed in the trust account for the expansion of the zoo.
